Dyer vent fires are all too common with an average of over 15,000 per year. A good rule of thumb is to have the duct swept annually but there are determining factors such as how many people and pets live in the house hold, how long of a run the exhaust duct is coming off your dryer or how many twists and turns the duct takes to exit your house will determine how often it should be cleaned out.
